Description Bovicox 50 mg/ml Oral Suspension for Cattle and Sheep Bovicox 50 mg/ml is an oral suspension specifically designed for cattle and sheep, used in both the treatment and prevention of coccidiosis, a disease caused by Eimeria bovis or Eimeria zuernii. This product is effective for calves, cattle, and sheep. Coccidiosis is a highly destructive and costly condition that leads to severe illness and even fatalities in livestock. Bovicox not only treats active infections but also helps safeguard your herd by preventing future outbreaks. Overview and Symptoms Coccidiosis is a highly contagious disease that predominantly affects calves between one and six months old, though older cattle can also contract it. This illness is caused by a microscopic parasite that multiplies in the intestines of infected animals. The parasite’s eggs are excreted in the animal’s feces, contaminating the surrounding soil and grass. When other animals consume this contaminated feed, they too become infected. Coccidiosis is one of the most common and financially devastating diseases farmers encounter. The typical symptoms of coccidiosis include diarrhea, a rough or scruffy coat, loss of appetite, weight loss, and weakness in calves. In more severe cases, blood and mucus may appear in the manure, and if left untreated, the disease can be fatal. Dosage: Cattle: 3ml per 10kg bodyweight (90ml for a 300kg weanling) Sheep: 4ml per 10kg bodyweight Withdrawal peroid: Cattle: 63 days, Sheep: 42 days. Not suitable for animals producing milk for human consumption.
